YooTubeSniper back and a so much has been going on within my universe that I thought I needed to put thoughts, ideas, feelings, and words to paper.  My last kid is leaving for college so now what.  What activities can an empty nester get involved in when the last dependent walks across the stage.

Well today is the first day of the month of May and I have traveled down many journeys since I last posted anything on my site. May holds many rewarding moments for me and the prior months have also brought heartache and pain as well. Our youngest child is just about to leave the nest and progress on to her own little dwelling. So much goes through my mind as I watched her prepare for the final days of what is known as “Wonder Years”.  Every time I look at this strange woman in my presence reminds me of the simpler times we had (naps, recess, playmates) and how fragile she was then.  Fast forward a few years to middle school and hop skip and a jump into high school we are now looking at what color to paint the room she used to call her sanctuary.  I could have sworn I was just having a major debate with my little first grader about why she cannot wear her ballerina tutu and tiara to school.  Aahh, the memories and how soon they pass up by.

Okay, back to the present day with senior fees almost completed and the prom expenses behind us had me thinking about what happens next.  With the house about to be in a different state, what activities and adventures can me and the other half get into before we go insane from not having anyone to boss around anymore.  Well for my pleasure here are just a few ideas I personally would like to partake in that will not break the bank and also can do locally. This is my personal short list for starters:

1.     Learn how to play Bridge

2.     Go camping outside at the lake in a real tent

3.     Visit a Bed and Bath that offers wine tasting or has a vineyard

4.     Always room for Las Vegas or Shreveport

5.     Start an Empty Nesters Club for Woman Only

6.     Get a tattoo…Why not

7.     Join a book club

8.     Buy a boat

9.     Fish

10.Finish my book I started writing.

This is just some of the things I have been wanting to do but have not really had the time because of that strange woman walking around my house sometimes late at night. But this journey has made me think about the different role I will have to adjust to because of my last role I have being playing for so many years. I am aware that change comes swiftly when you are in charge of other peoples lives but I never imagined that one day the change would make me switch titles.
